Part 1 of Dream – Plan – Act

Dream – Plan – Act

How to create your own unique vision and execute it with confidence starts with dreaming a little dream…no strike that, dreaming a hugely outrageous fantastical dream!

Having never had much problem using my imagination to creative ends, I am quite astounded by how often I hear “I don’t really love what I do, but I have no idea what I want to do instead!” or “My business needs to grow, improve, change with the markets, but I haven’t a clue where to start!”

Start at the END!

What does the goal or dream look like? What does it feel like, what are you doing, saying, feeling? Who is with you? Paint the picture with intricate detail, don’t hold back.

The end is the beginning!

The End

You can’t get to where you are going if you don’t have a destination.

Remember it’s not a lack of imagination that is the issue in dreaming your hugely outrageous fantastical dream, it’s all about confidence and belief. We can easily imagine all of the things we would do if we won the lottery, but when it comes to reality we tend to let the excuses of money, time, family and the old faithful ‘one just doesn’t do that!!’ stand in our way.

Well here’s the secret, dreaming is not dependent on anything! There are no if I had X amount of dollars in the bank I could start to dream or when the kids leave home, I’ll start to dream. Dreaming is free and a fabulous past time, if you wait until your ‘perfect’ moment, it will never happen.

It’s a straight out choice and if you aren’t putting everything in place to live your dream life, then that is your choice.

I’ll make it a little easier for you, you have just won $100 000 000 000 (for the math-heads you can tell me what that is actually called!) but more money than is required for 2 lifetimes. Your family and friends are totally supportive and you have an entourage of people to help you do everything, so get out your pen and paper and start writing all the things you always wanted to do, but dared not to believe possible.

Here are two helpful tools to aid in your dream quest, the first is my latest Productive ToolThe Dream Depict-er. The second is from one of my favourite dreamers in action, Live Your Legend founder Scott Dinsmore’s The 27 Questions to Find Your Passion Workbook from his Passionate Work Toolkit. I highly recommend you sign up for his email updates so you can gain access to all of the tools in his Passionate Work Toolkit.

Dream big, create a vision of your dream life and/or business, don’t hold back…

If you want to feel accountable, tell me your hugely outrageous fantastical dream here in the comments and next week I’ll help you with the next step! Planning the journey.

Great post, Kylie. I think many people are afraid to dream as they don’t want to get their hopes up. I’ve always been a huge dreamer!

Looking forward to your next post.

I agree and if you don’t dare to dream or put limitations on them, you will never know what you are capable of! Thanks
